Punjab’s agriculture minister appealed to the central government for immediate flood relief, including a financial package and increased compensation for farmers. Over 4 lakh acres of farmland were submerged, causing extensive damage to crops, livestock, and the rural economy. He requested ₹50,000 per acre in compensation and the release of pending funds.
