What’s Left Behind Of A Tragedy: Distraught Families, Anxious Relatives With Prayers On Their Lips

Sounds of wailing, strong enough to melt even the stone-hearted, reverberated at the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri as a stark remembrance of the horrific inferno at a four-storied building in Mundka on Friday afternoon.

Distraught relatives of missing persons waited with bated breath, hoping their dear ones are not on the list of 27 people who had died in the inferno. Many are waiting with anxiousness to know the names and fate of 29 people who are reported missing in one of the most brutal fire incidents in the national capital in recent times.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the site on Saturday. He also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured in the fire incident.

Member of Parliament from North West Delhi Hans Raj Hans also visited the site and took stock of the situation.
