PM Modi Speaks With Russian President Putin Over Phone, Discusses Evacuation Of Indians From Ukraine

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin today as Russia stepped up its attack on the eastern European nation.

The two leaders reviewed the situation in Ukraine, especially in Kharkiv city where many Indian students are stuck, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.

During their phone call Modi and Putin discussed safe evacuation of the Indian nationals from the conflict areas, the PMO stated.
