NEW DELHI: Hours after the West Bengal Police team was stopped to do a search at a house in South Delhi, the Delhi Police said that there was a legal discrepancy found in the execution of a warrant brought by the Bengal Police in connection with Congress MLA money seizure case.

The West Bengal Police’s CID unit had come in the morning, with a search warrant, to conduct a search of the residence of Sidhartha Majumdar located at South Moti Bagh in South Campus.

However, the team was stopped by the Delhi Police, a few minutes before the CID conducted the search in Majumdar’s house.

“A team of West Bengal (WB) Police had arrived today for the execution of a search warrant in the area of South West district,” Delhi Police DCP (southwest) Manoj C said.

“Initially, Delhi Police provided all necessary assistance to WB Police for the execution of the search warrant. However, legal discrepancies were noticed during the execution of the same. Accordingly, a legal opinion was sought which revealed that the warrant is not executable. Hence, the same was conveyed to WB Police,” he added.
