New Delhi NEET paper solver gang busted; four arrested

The official said that on May 5 when two students were caught with mismatched biometric data during the NEET exam at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Mehta Vidyalaya in New Delhi.

NEW DELHI : In a major crackdown on cheating in NEET 2024, the Special Staff of New Delhi District said on Saturday that they arrested four persons including two MBBS students allegedly involved in a paper-solving racket.

Devesh Kumar Mahla, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, said four mobile phones and one car were seized during the operation.

The official said that on May 5 when two students were caught with mismatched biometric data during the NEET exam at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Mehta Vidyalaya in New Delhi. 

Accordingly, a case under section 419, 420, 468, 471, 34 of IPC was registered at PS Tilak Marg and the alleged proxy students Sumit Mandoliya and Krishan Kesarwani, were arrested.

Given the seriousness of the offense, the case was transferred to the Special Staff. A dedicated team led by Inspector Sanjay Kumar Gupta, and Inspector Parbhat Sharma was formed to solve the case. The team was divided into two units. 

One team used technical surveillance to locate the accused while the second team embarked on a series of raids across Delhi, Alwar, Jaipur, and Noida. These raids were based on intelligence gleaned from the technical surveillance.

Meanwhile, during the sustained interrogation, Sumit Mandoliya and Krishan Kesarwani revealed the names of their handlers, and the team successfully identified the key figures in the operation: Prabhat Kumar and Kishor Lal. 

However, apprehending them proved challenging. These individuals, aware of the police hunt, kept changing their locations to evade capture. The determined team didn’t relent and through tireless investigation and tracking, they finally pinpointed the accused in a Noida hotel.

The relentless efforts of the team paid off and the team managed to apprehend Prabhat Kumar and Kishor Lal involved in the scam. This crucial breakthrough led to their swift arrest.

 Further investigation of the case is underway.
