CBI Raids 14 locations In 6 States, UT In 2 Cases Of Corruption In J&K

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday carried out searches at more than 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi in connection with alleged irregularities in the award of contracts for two projects in the Union Territory.

A CBI spokesperson here said that the agency was carrying out searches in Jammu and Srinagar, Delhi, Mumbai, Noida in Uttar Pradesh, Trivandrum in Kerala and Darbhanga in Bihar on the premises related to the accused including some private companies, their former and current officials, and former officials of the Chenab Valley Power Projects Ltd.

He said that the CBI had registered two separate cases on the request from Jammu and Kashmir government on the allegations of malpractices in award of contract of J&K Employees Health Care Insurance Scheme to a private company and release of Rs 60 crore in 2017-18, and award of the contract worth Rs 2200 crore of civil works of Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) to another private firm in 2019.
