New Delhi: The Embassy of Sweden in India, in partnership with the Swedish Institute, successfully concluded its flagship education and outreach event — Study Fair 2025: Time for Sweden — in New Delhi.
The fair witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 300 students registering to explore higher education pathways in Sweden and over 130 participating in person.
The event opened opportunities for final-year undergraduate students and young professionals to interact directly with faculty members and admissions teams from eight leading Swedish universities, including Jönköping University, University of Skövde, Mälardalen University, Linköping University, Karlstad University, Halmstad University, Linnaeus University, and University of Borås – The Swedish School of Textiles.
Students received guidance on Master’s programmes, scholarship options, research opportunities, application processes, and life in Sweden, a country globally recognised for its academic excellence, sustainability-driven innovation, and student-friendly culture.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Sweden to India, Jan Thesleff, expressed satisfaction at the level of engagement:
“Sweden’s education system is built on openness, equality, and innovation. We are glad to see such strong interest from Indian students. Events like this help them discover opportunities that match their goals and challenges of tomorrow.”
The enthusiasm among young attendees underscored the growing interest in Sweden as a preferred global higher-education destination.
Many students shared that the opportunity to speak directly with university representatives offered clarity on academic choices and strengthened their confidence in pursuing research and careers in fields such as sustainable technology, design, robotics, and environmental innovation.
The event highlighted Sweden’s position as a world-class education hub, known for its high-quality teaching standards, interdisciplinary research culture, and commitment to sustainability and equality. With increasing Indian student mobility towards Europe, Sweden continues to emerge as an attractive destination for those seeking academic excellence and global exposure.
