New Delhi: CRED founder Kunal Shah celebrated the platform’s seventh anniversary with a heartfelt message to its 1.5 crore–strong user community, saying, “A big thank you on behalf of everyone at @CRED_club as we turn 7.”
In a detailed note shared on X, Shah reflected on the company’s journey from a simple mission to a nationwide financial movement built on trust, discipline and rewards.
“Seven years ago, I made a promise: to build a system that works for the creditworthy… What started as a mission has now become a movement shaped by over 1.5 crore members,” Shah wrote, emphasising how users have helped shape CRED’s growth.

According to Shah, CRED now sends reminders for nearly 5 crore credit cards every month, helping members avoid thousands of crores in late fees and improve their credit scores simply by paying on time.
Shah highlighted the company’s scale and reliability, noting:
“35 crore bills are paid on CRED every year; 99% settle in under three minutes.”
He further added that the platform undergoes over 90 annual audits and only ships products that meet standards high enough to be recommended “to our own families.”
Reflecting on India’s credit ecosystem, Shah said the country had 2.8 crore credit cards when CRED began. Today, that number has crossed 10 crore, with banks and brands aligning with the platform’s conviction in “rewarding the creditworthy.”
CRED, which started as an app, has now evolved into what Shah calls a “high-trust ecosystem.”
He credited the team of over 950 employees, saying missions turn into movements “when audacious people commit to a powerful idea.”
Shah expressed deep gratitude to users:
“On behalf of this team: Thank you. You push us to think bigger, build better, and raise our craft every day.”
The founder closed his message on an optimistic note:
“I’m excited for what’s coming next.”
CRED, launched in 2018, has positioned itself as a rewards-based platform for credit card bill payments, expanding into lending, shopping, and financial services over the years. With the company marking its seventh year, Shah’s message signals confidence in continued innovation and scale.
