This appointment is seen as an attempt to persuade kuldeep, who was denied a ticket from Hisar Lok Sabha Seat.

Haryana: In a significant move ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections’s sixth phase and assembly elections later this year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Bhavya Bishnoi, son of MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi, as the Haryana chief of party’s youth wing.

Bhavya is a sitting BJP MLA from Adampur in Haryana he had won the bypoll early last year after Kuldeep had switched from Congress to the saffron party over differences with Gandhis during Rajya Sabha polls in 2022.

This appointment is seen as an attempt to persuade kuldeep, who was denied a ticket from Hisar Lok Sabha Seat even as BJP has made exceptions for Union defence minister Rajnath Singh & his son Pankaj Singh by fielding them from Lucknow and Noida, Union I&B minister Anurag Thakur & his father Prem Kumar Dhumal in Himachal Pradesh and other dynasty leaders in the past.

Reacting to this appointment, Bhavya Bishnoi wrote on X, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to Honourable Chief Minister and President of BJP Haryana Nayab Saini, for entrusting me with the responsibility of being the Haryana state in-charge of BJYM by the Bharatiya Janata Party. I assure the youth of Haryana that I will become their voice and live up to their expectations.”

On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini met Kuldeep Bishnoi at his Delhi residence. This meeting was seen as an attempt to convince Bishnoi to work for the BJP as he was reported to be disappointed after not getting a ticket from the party.

Bishnoi has recently played a huge role in ensuring victories in 36 assembly constituencies across seven Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan 2023 elections as well in 2024 Lok Sabha elections including high profile Bikaner seat where there is a significant vote bank of his community known for protecting forests and wildlife.

Soon after the meeting, Kuldeep posted the highlights of the discussions on social media platform X, “During the meeting, there was an extensive positive discussion on various topics, including the Lok Sabha elections.” He also dismissed allegations of him joining the Congress as misleading and unreliable.

Kuldeep Bishnoi is  the younger son of the late former Chief Minister of Haryana, Bhajan Lal. The BJP announced MLA Ranjit Singh Chautala who has recently joined the party as its candidate from Hisar instead of Bishnoi. Following his meeting with Saini he addressed the media and said that he and his son are not troubled by this move and in fact they are  dedicated workers of  the BJP.

General elections in Haryana are being held in a single phase on May 25. Voting in Haryana will be held for 10 Lok Sabha seats including Hisar seat. In the last elections of 2019, the BJP registered wins on all 10 seats achieving a massive victory over Congress and then Om Prakash Chautala’s Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).
