Court Sends Mohsin Ahmad To NIA Custody Till Aug 16

NEW DELHI: Mohsin Ahmad, who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday, was sent to the agency’s custody till August 16 by a local court.

Ahmad, who was arrested from the Batla House area of South Delhi in connection with the ISIS module case, was produced before a court here today.

The NIA had alleged that Ahmad, a permanent resident of Bihar’s Patna, was arrested for his involvement in the collection of funds for ISIS from sympathisers in India as well as abroad. He was sending these funds to Syria and other places in the form of cryptocurrency in order to further the activities of ISIS.

The NIA also said that Ahmad is radicalised and an active member of the proscribed terrorist organisation ISIS.
