NEW DELHI: Punjab has emerged as one of India’s most attractive investment destinations under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, with global giants like Nestle India, PepsiCo India, and Coca-Cola India investing significantly in the state’s industrial sector. Since 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals worth over ₹1.23 lakh crore, with major contributions from the food processing industry.
Nestle India is expanding its plant in Moga with an investment of ₹583 crore, enhancing milk processing and food production capacity. About 90% of the plant’s milk is sourced from Punjab’s farmers and cooperative societies, strengthening rural incomes. Chief Minister Mann described this as a “partnership model of farmers and industry,” highlighting the link between industrial growth and rural development.
Coca-Cola India has set up a ₹275 crore beverage plant in Ludhiana, implementing environmentally friendly practices like water recycling, solar energy use, and waste management. Similarly, PepsiCo India invested ₹30 crore in Sangrur to expand its food processing unit, sourcing raw materials through contract farming and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The Mann government has integrated environmental responsibility into industrial development. Policies mandate Zero Liquid Discharge, Rainwater Harvesting, and Waste Recycling in all new projects, establishing Punjab as a Green Industrial State.
These investments have created thousands of direct and indirect jobs. Government data indicates that since 2022, proposals worth ₹70,000 crore have generated over 4.5 lakh jobs, and in 2025 alone, FDI of ₹8,000 crore has flowed into the state. Chief Minister Mann emphasized that Punjab aims to be a land of opportunities where industrial growth benefits all sections of society.
The investments by Nestle, Coca-Cola, and PepsiCo symbolize Punjab’s industrial renaissance, combining economic growth with rural development and environmental sustainability. Under the Mann government, Punjab is transforming from an agriculture-centric state into an emerging industrial powerhouse, creating new opportunities and instilling confidence in its citizens.
