NEW DELHI: Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg proudly displayed his latest accomplishment as an amateur martial artist. He revealed his new blue belt in jiu-jitsu, signifying his progress and dedication to the discipline. Interestingly, this achievement comes as he gears up for a potential cage match with his tech rival, Elon Musk, adding an intriguing twist to the saga of clash of the tech giants.

Sharing his accomplishment on Instagram, Zuckerberg also took the opportunity to congratulate his coach, Dave Camarillo, who had attained his 5th-degree black belt. The post garnered immense popularity, receiving over 196,000 likes within a few days.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a popular martial art, follows a belt progression system, with the blue belt signifying a step above the beginner-level white belt. The ranks progress from white to blue, purple, brown, and ultimately, the highly esteemed black belt.

In his Instagram post, Zuckerberg expressed his enthusiasm, praising his coach and mentor, saying, “Congrats @davecamarillo on your 5th-degree black belt. You’re a great coach, and I’ve learned so much about fighting and life from training with you. Also honored to be promoted to compete at the blue belt for the @guerrillajjsanjose team.”

This is not the first time Zuckerberg has made headlines in the martial arts world. Earlier this year, he participated in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held at a Silicon Valley high school and won two medals, showcasing his dedication and skill in the discipline. Last September, it was revealed that he had also taken up mixed martial arts (MMA) training, with his trainer praising his abilities in the ring, referring to him as a “silent killer.”

Amidst the excitement surrounding Zuckerberg’s martial arts journey, the tech world was abuzz when Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, challenged Zuckerberg to a “cage match.” Zuckerberg responded with a confident “Send me location,” indicating his readiness to accept the challenge. However, the actualization of the fight remains uncertain.
