Kashmir: LeT Terrorist Associate Involved In Killing Of Non Local Labourer Dies In Gunfight

Police on Sunday said that a terrorist Associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba was killed during a gunfight with terrorists in Bijbhera area of Anantnag district of southern Kashmir.

“When search party reached towards the suspected hideout militants opened fire which hit one accused, hybrid Militant of LeT Sajjad Tantray of Kulgam, who was with search party for identification of hideout. He was rushed to SDH Bijbehara where doctors declared him brought dead,” Kashmir Zone police tweeted on Sunday morning.

“During investigation hybrid Militant Sajjad Tantray, who was earlier a militant associate of LeT and released from PSA, revealed that he had attacked on two outside labourers on 13/11/2022 at Rakhmomen, Bijbehara in Anantnag in which two labourers got seriously injured,” police said in another tweet.

“Later on, labourer namely Chota Prasad succumbed to injuries on 18/11/2022 at Hospital. Weapon of offence (Pistol) and vehicle used in militant crime were also recovered on his disclosure. Investigation is going on vigorously to arrest more Militant associates of this module,” reads another tweet.

Two migrant workers were injured in a targeted attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on last Saturday evening.

This was the second targeted attack on non-locals in the Anantnag district this month.

Police had said that non-local labourers were attacked in the Rakh Momin area of south Kashmir.

“Terrorists fired upon & injured two outside labourers in Rakh-Momin area of Anantnag.  Both the injured are being shifted to hospital for treatment. Area being cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” police had tweeted.

Later one of labourers succumbed to his injuries.

On November 3, two non-locals, working in a private school at Bondialgam in Anantnag, were injured in an attack. The injured labourers were from Bihar and Nepal) and were working at a private SAPS school at Bondialgam in the Anantnag district.

On October 18, two non-local labourers hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj were killed after militants hurled a grenade at them in the Harmain in the Shopian district.

Meanwhile Police said that they have arrested three Hybrid terrorists at Shalteng area of in Srinagar Outskirts.

In a tweet, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “Army (2RR) and Srinagar Police arrested three hybrid militants along with a huge consignment of 03 AK rifles, 02 Pistols, 09 Magazines & 200 rounds from outskirts of Srinagar. Investigation is going on. Further details shall follow,”.
