New Delhi: In a significant counter-terror operation, Indian security forces conducted precision airstrikes in Pakistan on May 7, eliminating at least five high-profile terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Intelligence sources have revealed disturbing details of the slain terrorists, including their deep ties with the Pakistani military and government.

Key Terrorists Neutralized:
Mudassar Khadian Khas alias Abu – A top LeT commander in charge of Markaz Taiba in Muridke, Mudassar was given a military funeral attended by senior Pakistani officials. Shockingly, wreaths were laid on his behalf by the Pakistan Army Chief and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. His funeral prayers were led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a UN-designated terrorist from Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD). A serving Pakistani Lt. General and Punjab Police IG were present.
2. Hafiz Muhammed Jameel – A senior JeM leader and brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar, he was responsible for radicalizing youth and fundraising for terror activities from Bahawalpur.
3. Mohammad Yusuf Azhar (@ Ustad Ji) – Another brother-in-law of Masood Azhar, Yusuf was a key trainer for JeM and was wanted in the IC-814 hijacking case. He orchestrated multiple attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
4. Khalid alias Abu Akasha – A LeT operative involved in arms smuggling from Afghanistan and terror attacks in J&K. His funeral in Faisalabad was attended by Pak Army officials and the local Deputy Commissioner.
5. Mohammad Hassan Khan – Son of JeM’s PoK commander Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, Hassan played a crucial role in coordinating cross-border terror strikes.
Pakistani State Complicity Exposed
The presence of serving Pakistani Army generals, police chiefs, and government officials at the terrorists’ funerals has raised serious questions about Islamabad’s alleged patronage of jihadist groups. The use of a government school for Mudassar’s funeral and official tributes further highlights the deep nexus between Pakistan’s establishment and terror outfits.
India’s Strong Message
Security analysts say the strikes demonstrate India’s resolve to target terror infrastructure across borders. The operation follows intelligence inputs about these terrorists planning fresh attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
Government sources stated, “This operation reaffirms India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The world must take note of how Pakistan glorifies slain terrorists with state honours.”
Pakistan has yet to officially acknowledge the strikes, but local reports confirm the deaths. The revelations are expected to intensify global scrutiny on Islamabad’s counter-terror commitments.
International Implications
With Hafiz Abdul Rauf (a UN-blacklisted terrorist) leading funeral prayers and Pakistani generals in attendance, pressure may mount on FATF and the UN to take stronger action against Pakistan’s terror links.
India has shared evidence with allied nations, urging them to hold Pakistan accountable for sheltering internationally wanted terrorists.
