NEW DELHI: Delhi Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Delhi Convenor Gopal Rai said that the public was aware of the accusations levelled against the party, labelling them as false because that is the only way by which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can “defeat Arvind Kejriwal in the elections”.
“People of Delhi will only vote for Shri Arvind Kejriwal, that’s why the Modi government is conspiring. The BJP wants to topple the AAP government through deceitful means. We will never let the BJP’s conspiracy succeed. We are not the ones caught in the trap set by the BJP. To thwart the BJP’s conspiracy, we are going among the Delhiites and taking their opinions,” said Rai.
Rai further stated that every person that the party has spoken to during the “Main Bhi Kejriwal” campaign has stated that they understand that the accusations made against the Delhi CM are false. “Every person in Delhi understands how false accusations are being made against the AAP. The people of Delhi are unanimously saying that we have put Shri Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister’s chair of Delhi. Shri Arvind Kejriwal should remain the Chief Minister, even if he is arrested? The public’s view is that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has done a lot of work for the public. Therefore, he should not resign, and the government should run from jail,” said the minister.
On the other hand, AAP’s senior leader and Delhi Minister Raaj Kumar Anand, on Tuesday, had also conducted a door-to-door campaign with party workers in his assembly constituency of Patel Nagar. He found out that the voters of Delhi had given mandate to the Kejriwal government. “Delhi’s public has given mandate to Shri Arvind Kejriwal to run the government. That’s why we are conducting this campaign to learn their opinions, and our workers are recording feedback received from the public in a register, collecting data from across Delhi,” Anand said.
He mentioned that not only men but also housewives and children were aware of the BJP allegedly trapping prominent leaders of the party in false cases. “Not only men at home but also housewives and children studying in schools and colleges are well aware of how the BJP is falsely trapping prominent leaders of the AAP in fabricated cases and putting them in jail. During this door-to-door campaign, they are receiving immense support from the people of Delhi,” said Anand.
Anand further highlighted that the public believes that the BJP is seeking revenge for its defeat in Delhi.
