NEW DELHI: On Thursday, the widow of slain Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, revealed that her family had constantly demanded security from Rajasthan’s Director General of Police and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, after receiving multiple threats to their lives over the phone.

Sheela Shekhawat, Gogamedi’s widow, stated that her family’s pleas fell on deaf ears.

She also stated in the FIR that her husband had informed her about gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra’s gangs plotting to kill him.

“No security was provided to my family despite threats and repeated requests. We wrote letters on February 24, March 1, and March 25, but nothing happened.

We also learned that on February 14, the Punjab Police wrote a letter to the DGP Intelligence (Rajasthan), informing me that my husband was on the radar of killers.

Despite receiving all such inputs, the Rajasthan DGP and CM Ashok Gehlot did not provide us with any security,” read the FIR copy.

She claimed that the lack of security provided to the Karni Sena chief’s family was intentional, to help orchestrate the killing by ignoring intelligence inputs, making it easier for the killers to act on their threats.

“My husband told me several times that he was getting threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra gangs, which have international connections,” she said in the FIR.

On December 5, two killers identified as Rohit Rathore and Nitin Foji went to meet Gogamedi, who were at his residence for tea.

In a tragic turn of events, both Rathore and Foji had suddenly pulled out their pistols, opening fire on Gogamedi indiscriminately.

In the incident, Gogamadi and Naveen Shekhawat were killed on the spot.

The assailants could be seen running from the spot in the CCTV footage, following the incident.

Two others identified as Ajit Singh and Narendra Singh Shekhawat were also injured in the incident.

It’s mentioned in the FIR that Sheela, the widow of Gogamadi, learned from social media that Canada-based gangster Rohit Godara took responsibility for the murder.

Godara has ties with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Khalistan secessionist Goldy Brar.

One of the killers, Nitin, is an army personnel posted in Alwar. Recently, who had come to his hometown for the holidays.

It is said that he was radicalised by the Bishnoi gang to eliminate the Karni Sena chief along with Rohit Rathore. Both assailants are currently on the run.

The family has demanded for a probe by the National Investigation Agency, which has been accepted by Home Minister, Amit Shah, however, the NIA has not officially commented on the matter.
