Paper Rex kicked off the day with a dominant performance against Sentinels, who had bounced back strongly in the group stage but couldn’t keep up with PRX’s aggression. The 2–0 result sent Paper Rex in to the semifinals in style.

 

In the second quarterfinal, Fnatic made short work of Karmine Corp, also closing their series 2–0. The European giants looked clinical throughout, showing their playoff pedigree with flawless coordination and strategy.

The third quarterfinal featured NRG facing off against Gen.G Esports. Gen.G displayed excellent map control and pace, shutting down NRG’s attempts to rally and taking the series with another clean 2–0.

 

The final quarterfinal saw Team Heretics take on BBL Esports, and in another straight-set victory, Heretics secured their semifinal slot, completing a day of clean sweeps across the board.

Placed 4th overall, S8UL secured 37 placement points (PP) and 7 kill points (KP), totalling 44 points—a major milestone as they outperformed several global heavyweights.

 

Alliance topped the table with a commanding 53 PP and 2 KP, finishing with 55 points, followed by 100 Thieves, who scored 46 PP and 4 KP for a total of 50 points. Rival Esports delivered the highest kill count of the day with 9 KP and 38 PP, totaling 47 points, just ahead of S8UL.

 

Other notable contenders include ROC Esports (44 points), JD Gaming (30 points), and Gaimin Gladiators (34 points). On the flip side, popular names like Team Liquid (25 points), Crazy Raccoon (27), and NRG (33) found themselves outside the top 5 despite aggressive plays.

 

Teams like EVOS Esports, Twisted Minds, UNLIMIT, and GoNext Esports struggled to gain momentum, with scores hovering below 20, reflecting the brutal pace and tactical depth of this high-stakes tournament.

Day 4 of the Dota 2 group stage at the Esports World Cup 2025 saw crucial matchups that shaped the final standings, with Aurora pulling off a major win and tiebreakers settling top spots in Group C and Group D.

 

In Group C, Aurora dominated Virtus.pro 2–0 in a vital match that pushed Virtus.pro further down the table. Tundra Esports bounced back strongly to defeat Team Yandex 2–0, ending their group stage on a high note. The win proved decisive, as a tiebreaker was later held between Tundra and HEROIC, both tied on points. The tiebreaker ended 1–1, allowing Tundra Esports to retain top spot due to head-to-head and map difference.

 

In Group D, PVISION were handed their first defeat of the tournament in a close 1–2 loss against Aurora, shaking up the standings just before the tiebreaker round. Shopify Rebellion and HEROIC drew 1–1 in a well-contested match, splitting the points evenly.
