JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmirโs Director General of Police (DGP), Nalin Prabhat, has equated the dangers of terrorism and narcotics trade, stating, โThe battle against drugs and the fight against terror hold equal significance.โ
Addressing Thana Diwas in Jammu, DGP Prabhat underscored the pressing need for a collective social response to counter the escalating drug crisis. He pointed out that drug trafficking operates as a structured crime syndicate, with illicit substances being funneled from western territories through the Pakistan border, allegedly orchestrated by ISI.
โWhile law enforcement agencies are taking strong action, societal involvement is crucial. Even schoolchildren, dressed in uniforms, have been found peddling small packets of narcotics and other illegal substances. The absence of parental supervision and community oversight has worsened the situation,โ he cautioned.
