"In that crowd, some people from Etah had come drunk; I even scolded them for coming intoxicated to a holy place like a satsang. But they incited the stampede," recounted Pushpa Devi, one of the survivors.

Hathras: People were pushing: Two sisters retell horror of stampede

Two sisters missing in the Hathras stampede incident were found by unknown persons and taken to their house. They were further then taken to the Sikandra Rao Trauma Center in Hathras for further treatment. When asked who had dropped them off, the survivor Taramati said, “We were unconscious. We didn't know where we were. When I briefly regained consciousness, I told them the address of my granddaughter, so they dropped us off, but we don’t know who dropped us.”

Hathras: Major tragedy, 87 lives lost in stampede at Shiv Katha

The stampede happened in Ratibhanpur, Hathras, after a satsang (spiritual gathering) addressed by Narayan Sakar Hari, also known as Bhole Baba, who claimed to have previously worked for the IB. More than 20,000 people had gathered at the satsang.
