Punjab Announces India’s ‘Highest-Ever’ Farmer Compensation Package

Punjab will provide ₹20,000 per acre in flood relief to farmers, the highest in India, exceeding other states’ compensation. The government also offers ₹4 lakh to families of deceased flood victims and allows farmers to sell deposited sand. This is seen as a historic move.
