NEW DELHI: Following assurances from Union Home minister Amit Shah, Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik resumed her job at Indian Railways on Monday. On Saturday, Sakshi, along with fellow Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Bajrang Punia, met Home minister Shah at his official residence in New Delhi. It was learned that Shah had assured the wrestlers of a speedy investigation in their protest against former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Saran Singh. Sakshi, Bajrang and Commonwealth and Asian Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat had protested against Singh for sexually harassing women wrestlers, including minors. They have been protesting at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for over a month but were removed from the site by Delhi Police when they tried to march towards Parliament on the day of the inauguration of the new building. The wrestlers were later not allowed to continue with their protest at Jantar Mantar.
