NEW DELHI: Punjab, the land of the Gurus and the spirit of ‘Chardikla’, is rising strong after the devastating floods. Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has launched Mission Chardikla, a comprehensive campaign aimed not just at relief and rehabilitation, but at restoring the state to the peak of prosperity and progress.
CM Mann emphasized that the mission focuses on securing Punjab’s future. “Our farmers have to cultivate again, children have to return to school, and flood-affected families have to rebuild their homes,” he said. The initiative highlights unity and brotherhood among Punjabis, with citizens from India and abroad contributing generously to the effort.
The mission thrives on public cooperation. CM Mann acknowledged the support of the Union Bank of India, which contributed ₹2 crore, noting, “Your ₹10 is also equal to ₹10 crore.” This contribution represents not just financial aid but the solidarity and love of Punjabis for their state.
To ensure smooth implementation, a special War Room has been established in the Chief Minister’s Office, monitored daily by CM Mann himself. Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh confirmed that special attention is being given to the health of people and animals in flood-affected regions. Compensation will also be provided to farmers for damaged crops, reflecting the government’s commitment to concrete action.
Mission Chardikla is more than a government scheme—it is a collective effort demonstrating Punjab’s resilience. The campaign offers citizens a chance to rebuild their state together, showing that the spirit of ‘Chardikla’ endures even in the face of adversity.
