NEW DELHI: In the wake of devastating floods across Punjab, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department has announced a major allocation of essential fuel and gas reserves to ensure uninterrupted emergency services.
The state has allotted 33,000 litres of petrol and 46,500 litres of diesel reserves, distributed across petrol pumps, along with 1,320 gas cylinders on a per-agency basis.
District-Wise Allocation
Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said the move is aimed at meeting urgent contingencies and ensuring relief operations run smoothly. Key allocations include:

Govt’s Commitment to Relief
Minister Kataruchak reiterated that the state government is fully committed to rendering all possible assistance to people during the flood crisis. The allocation, he said, ensures that relief operations, rescue missions, and supply of essentials are not hampered due to shortage of fuel or cooking gas.
The move underlines Punjab’s preparedness to meet emergency needs while extending comprehensive support to flood-affected citizens.
