NEW DELHI: Delhi’s opposition parties launched scathing critiques of the BJP-led government’s 100-day celebrations on Saturday, citing unmet welfare pledges and alleged police action against protesters.
During the government’s event at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, AAP reported that “a large number of women” led by its Women’s Wing President Sarika Chaudhary were detained by police while demanding implementation of the BJP’s pre-election promise of ₹2,500 monthly honorarium. AAP claimed protesters raised slogans against Chief Minister Rekha Gupta before being removed.
Simultaneously, Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav condemned the celebrations as a “publicity stunt,” alleging wasteful spending of public funds. He asserted the government had failed core commitments, including the women’s allowance, Yamuna river cleanup, and healthcare upgrades.

– Congress criticized the renaming of a clinic to “Ayushman Arogya Mandir” as symbolic, alleging staff and facility shortages.

The 100-day event featured actor Anupam Kher and highlighted governance milestones, though opposition leaders uniformly dismissed it as diversionary. AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj called it “false drum-beating,” while Congress labeled the administration’s report card “blank.”
