NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday attached the immovable properties of a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) operative accused of facilitating arms and ammunition supply to active militants in Kashmir.
Acting on the orders of the NIA Special Court, Jammu, the agency sealed properties belonging to Tariq Ahmad Mir, a chargesheeted accused arrested in April 2025.
The attached assets include a single-storey concrete residential house constructed on 780 sq. ft. of land under Survey No. 82 Min, recorded as Shamilat (Khahcharai) in Village Maldera, District Shopian. Additionally, an orchard measuring 08 Marlas of land, classified as Abi-Soum under Survey No. 74 Min at the same village, has also been attached.
Mir, identified as an associate of HM terrorist Syed Naveed Mushtaq, was chargesheeted in October 2024 under provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act [UA(P)A].
The NIA stated that today’s attachment is part of its ongoing crackdown on terror financing and logistical support systems aiding banned outfits in the Valley. The agency emphasized that the action is aimed at dismantling terror networks that threaten India’s peace, stability, and harmony.
