New Delhi: A hard-hitting new book, “TERMITES: How the Left is Destroying the World through Subversion” by Abhijit Joag, has ignited a fierce debate on the dangers of unchecked Leftist ideology. The book delves into how neo-Marxist movements, including Wokeism, have distorted social justice principles and systematically eroded cultural and institutional foundations.
At the book launch, prominent speakers echoed the book’s central theme, comparing Leftist ideology to termites—silently eating away at society’s core while masquerading as progressive thought.
Leftism: A Dangerous Illusion:
Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, in his keynote address, stated that Leftism is not just like termites but also functions like an addictive drug, trapping generations in a delusional worldview. “It refuses to engage with reality, remaining confined in its ideological cocoon. This is not just a political battle; it is a civilizational one,” he asserted.
Trivedi highlighted how Leftist thought, since the 1970s, has thrived on self-loathing, dissent, and rebellion under the guise of intellectualism. “But the illusion is now breaking,” he said, pointing to India’s cultural reawakening through movements like Ram Mandir and Ram Setu. He also emphasized the role of modern technology, including AI, in countering Leftist propaganda.
Institutional Subversion and Hypocrisy
Rajeev Tuli, President of Suruchi Prakashan, noted that the Left often boasts about controlling institutions regardless of who holds political power. “Their influence persists even when they are out of office, shaping narratives from within,” he remarked.
Hitesh Shankar, Editor of Panchjanya, likened Leftist ideology to termites that hollow out nations while preaching democracy. “It is an ideology that glorifies bloody revolutions, suppresses dissent, and imposes tyranny in the name of progress,” he said.
Failed Legacy of Leftist Rule:
Sunil Deodhar, former BJP National Secretary and founder of My Home India, warned of the devastating impact of Leftist rule in India. “States like West Bengal, Tripura, and Kerala bear witness to the chaos, exploitation, and suppression left behind by decades of Leftist governance,” he said.
Deodhar criticized Leftist regimes for their empty promises of equity and social justice, which have only led to corruption and human rights violations. “India deserves better than failed ideologies and broken systems,” he declared.

The event underscored the urgent need for a national conversation on the dangers of Leftist subversion. With its Marathi edition already running into ten sold-out prints, “TERMITES” is set to fuel a crucial debate on reclaiming India’s cultural and intellectual future.
