NEW DELHI: Strengthening India’s defence diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific region, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth will lead the Indian delegation to the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025), scheduled to be held from May 20 to 24, 2025 in Langkawi, Malaysia.
An Indian Pavilion, showcasing the country’s growing defence capabilities and self-reliance in defence production, has been set up at the exhibition and will be formally inaugurated by the Minister.
India Showcasing Defence Prowess
Several leading Indian Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private companies will participate in LIMA 2025, including:
- Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited
- Bharat Dynamics Limited
- BEML
- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
- Gliders India Limited
These entities will highlight India’s advancements in defence manufacturing, aerospace engineering, and naval capabilities. Additionally, Indian defence assets, including a Dornier aircraft and an Indian Naval Ship, will be on display, reinforcing India’s operational competence and industrial expertise.
On the sidelines of LIMA 2025, Sanjay Seth is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato’ Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin.
The discussions are expected to deepen the India-Malaysia defence cooperation under the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was solidified during the 2024 visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister to India.
India and Malaysia share a robust and multifaceted relationship, with collaboration spanning across various strategic areas such as maritime security, counter-terrorism, and defence training.
