Bihar Deputy Chief minister Tejaswi Yadav on Monday said that his Mahagathbandhan government will contest the elections from Gopalganj and Mokama state assembly bye-elections and will emerge victorious in both the elections.

The Bihar deputy CM’s statement came as a reaction to Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan’s decision to support the BJP in the by-election from two seats in Bihar on October 30.

Yadav stated that the Mahagathbandhan will hold three meetings, two in Mokama and one in Gopalganj, ahead of the bye-election.

“Nitish Kumar will not be able to campaign as he is injured. But even then, the BJP fears us,” Yadav said.

Interestingly, Bihar’s election scene looked cold in the beginning. However, things appeared to be heating up following Paswan’s announcement about campaigning for the BJP.

Yadav stated that he will campaign for the election alongside Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Janata Dal United (JDU) president Lalan Singh, and JDU parliamentary board president Upendra Kushwaha.

“BJP is a party of publicity, BJP is so much feared that it is calling outsiders to campaign for them,” said Bihar Deputy CM Yadav.

“Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will campaign for the BJP in the by-elections to Mokama and Gopalganj,” Chirag Paswan said while announcing his decision to back the BJP in the bye-election.

“I am talking only about the bye-elections for Mokama and Gopalganj. It took a long time for us to arrive at a decision. Only two days are left before the campaign comes to an end. Our party will do its best to ensure the victory of the BJP candidates,” he added.

“He (Chirag Paswan) is a child… I have deep respect for his father (the late Ram Vilas Paswan). Not only respect, but I had also supported him during his early days,” CM Kumar said while reacting to Paswan’s decision.

“He is already in the BJP, so it’s good for him to go and campaign in favour of BJP candidates,” CM Kumar added.
