Kuno cheetah deaths due to stress & poor management says expert

In this YouTube video, we delve into the controversial death of cheetahs in Kuno National Park.

Concerns have been raised about whether India’s climate can accommodate Africa-born cheetahs or if there are deeper issues at play.

The New Indian speaks to wildlife activist Ajay Dubey, who believes that the failure of wildlife management needs to be probed, citing the stress of captivity as a possible reason for the cheetahs’ deaths.

Dubey also emphasises the need for quality monitoring and better management.

Despite spatial constraints not being an issue in Kuno, the video explores the possibility of sending cheetahs to Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve’s Darrah enclosure in Rajasthan and Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh to diversify the gene pool.
