NEW DELHI: The New Indian Team got the opportunity to interact with the Executive Director of Krafton Esports, Karan Pathak, where he shared the future prospects and BMPS 2025.
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2025 has officially increased the prize-pool to ₹4 crore, setting a new benchmark in the country’s mobile gaming ecosystem. But this might just be the beginning.
“100%. As long as there is support from fans towards their teams, you will see this prize pool increasing,” affirmed Karan Pathak in an exclusive interaction, indicating that the financial scale of Indian esports is directly tied to viewer engagement and fan loyalty.

Prize Pool Could Grow Even Bigger
The official explained that the base of the prize pool remains consistent, but the ascending growth comes from brand partnerships, fan engagement, and increased market interest. The more fans interact with the league, through streams, merchandise, and team support, the larger the pool becomes.

“It’s very important to understand this clearly. The base of the prize pool has always been the same. But with community support, it scales upward.”
Franchise Model in the Works
Another development hinted at was the franchise model, which could bring structure, financial stability, and longevity to India’s esports scene.
“We’ve kept participation open for franchise bids. A lot of interested parties are already reaching out to us.”
While details remain under wraps for now, insiders suggest that when the franchise system is fully implemented, it will mark a significant evolution in the league’s operations and revenue generation.
BMPS Winner to Represent India at PUBG Esports World Cup
Perhaps the biggest announcement of BMPS 2025 is that the winning team will directly qualify for the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a global mega-tournament that consolidates elite esports talent from across the world.
“We’ve received an invite for the Esports World Cup’s Battle Royale segment. It’s a massive opportunity for the Indian ecosystem.”

This is the first time an Indian BGMI team will have a direct shot at competing internationally under the Esports World Cup banner. Officials say it paves a roadmap for Indian talent to transition from national leagues to global arenas.
“If our players secure even a small share of the international prize pool, it opens the world to them. This is more than a game, it’s a career path.”
As the finals unfold and one team earns its place in Riyadh, the future of Indian esports looks bolder than ever before.
