Destro BMPS 2025

Summary

In an exclusive conversation with The New Indian after Day 1 of the BMPS 2025 Grand Finals, Gods Reign’s IGL Ammar “Destro” Khan opens up about missed chances, an unpredictable lobby, and his admiration for 4 Miracle Esports’ triple chicken dinner. Destro also reflects on India’s long-awaited return to the global Esports stage through the PUBG Mobile World Cup, calling it a historic moment for BGMI and Indian Esports.

NEW DELHI: After an intense opening day of the BMPS 2025 Grand Finals, Gods Reign’s In-Game Leader (IGL) Ammar “Destro” Khan spoke exclusively to The New Indian, offering candid reflections on his team’s performance, strategies, and India’s long-awaited shot at international glory.

“We Could’ve Had 50 Points, But We Threw”

Destro began by analyzing Gods Reign’s Day 1 results, admitting that while the team ended with a respectable 41 points, it could’ve been significantly higher.

“I had scored a goal on Day 1, that was 50 points. And it could have been done if we had converted our first and last match. Our first match was a 0-pointer. And our last match was in a good position but we threw and made mistakes,” Destro said.

Despite the slip-ups, he maintained that 41 points is “not bad,” and sees Day 2 as a chance to reset and rise.

Praise for 4 Miracle Esports: “They Converted Their Games Really Well”

One of Day 1’s biggest talking points was the stunning performance by 4 Miracle Esports, who pulled off three chicken dinners, dominating the field unexpectedly.

Destro had words of respect:

“Their strategy of holding the center favoured them a lot. In all three matches, they took a central shift. Kudos to them for converting those chances.”

“It’s Not Easy, It’s Unpredictable”

Responding to chatter in the community that this lobby is “easy” due to the presence of several underdog teams, Destro firmly disagreed.

“I wouldn’t call it easy, I would say it is very unpredictable. You can’t predict anything. Sometimes you’ll sit and nobody comes, sometimes you get slammed. It’s not easy at all.”

He emphasized that unpredictability makes the competition even more difficult — a brutal mix of patience, rotation gambles, and zone reading.

Comeback on Day 2? “No New Strategy, Just Refinement”

With the stakes getting higher, Destro was asked if the team will overhaul its game plan for Day 2. His response was calm and focused:

“There won’t be any new strategy. We’ll try to refine what we played today. Hopefully, we’ll do well tomorrow.”

The Bigger Picture: India Back on the Global Stage via Esports World Cup

In a massive boost to Indian Esports, the Esports World Cup Foundation announced that the winner of BMPS 2025 will secure a slot at the PUBG Mobile World Cup, marking India’s return to the global competitive stage after years.

Destro acknowledged the gravity of the opportunity:

“That is a very big thing, not just for BGMI Esports but for Indian Esports overall. BGMI is the biggest Esports game in India. Representing India on the international stage — I think we can do wonders.”
