NEW DELHI: Pakistan is turning into a “new breeding ground” for Hamas, especially after a February 5, rally in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where Hamas representative Dr. Khalid Al-Qadoumi allegedly shared the stage with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) leaders.
Recent developments have fueled further alarm—particularly a suspected Hamas-linked attack targeting civilian groups in a peaceful area of Pahalgam, a popular tourist zone in South Kashmir. Experts say this mirrors Hamas tactics of striking soft targets to generate maximum psychological impact.

Unverified reports also claim that Hamas operatives trained in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region before the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.
Defense analysts have noted tactical similarities between Hamas and Pakistani-linked groups, such as the use of low-cost rockets, civilian shields, and drone attacks during the May 2025 India-Pakistan clashes. They suggest Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) may be facilitating terror operations modeled on Hamas’s playbook.
However, major global outlets have not confirmed claims of a Hamas operational base in Pakistan. Their coverage still centers on Gaza, not South Asia. Hamas’s known support networks lie in Iran, Qatar, and Turkey.
Yet, in this volatile situation, India finds itself surrounded by hostile forces — from Pakistan’s deep-state-backed militancy to China’s aggression — and is still defending its sovereignty with remarkable resilience and strategic clarity.
While Pakistan’s history of nurturing jihadist outfits like LeT and JeM is well-established, conclusive evidence tying Hamas to Pakistani soil remains thin. The current narrative, though worrying, appears to be driven mainly by Indian sources and should be viewed with cautious scrutiny until verified by neutral intelligence or international observers.
There’s growing concern, but no definitive proof—yet—that Pakistan is becoming a Hamas hub. The allegations deserve deeper investigation, not blind acceptance.
