Iran Warns West: Stay Out or Face Regional Strikes

Summary

Iran has warned the US, UK, and France of direct strikes if they intervene in its conflict with Israel, following deadly Israeli attacks on Tehran and retaliatory Iranian missile strikes targeting Israeli cities and defense infrastructure.

NEW DELHI: Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, cautioning that their regional military assets both on land and at sea may face direct attacks should they attempt to obstruct Tehran’s ongoing military operations against Israel. This message, delivered through Iranian state-controlled media outlets on Saturday, comes amid escalating violence between Tehran and Tel Aviv.

The warning follows a devastating Israeli aerial assault that struck the Shahid Chamran Nobonyad Complex, a residential facility affiliated with Iran’s Ministry of Defense, located in the northeastern sector of the capital. The strike reportedly left at least 60 individuals dead, including 20 children.

In response, Iran launched a wave of missile attacks targeting Israeli territory. The barrage has so far resulted in the deaths of three Israeli civilians, with many more wounded. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the casualties.

Iranian state television also reported the deaths of two senior military officials in Israeli airstrikes. The deceased were identified as Major General Gholamreza Mehrabi, who oversaw intelligence for the Iranian armed forces’ general command, and Major General Mehdi Rabbani, who was responsible for strategic operations.

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization acknowledged that its Fordow nuclear installation suffered what it termed as “minor damage” during the Israeli assault, though the precise nature of the impact has not been fully disclosed. The Fordow facility is considered one of the country’s most sensitive and fortified nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, an Iranian missile strike landed near the Israeli military’s central command center in Kirya, Tel Aviv, which also houses the nation’s defense ministry. A video authenticated by a TV channel shows multiple interceptors streaking across the sky before culminating in a massive mid-air explosion.

Elsewhere in central Israel, two civilians lost their lives and 19 others sustained injuries during a separate missile attack. Images released by Israel’s national emergency response agency, Magen David Adom, depict significant destruction toppled structures, collapsed walls, and a severely damaged vehicle among the wreckage.

As tensions spiral, international observers are voicing growing concern over the possibility of a broader conflict that could draw in global powers. Diplomatic backchannels remain active, but with both sides suffering high-profile losses, prospects for immediate de-escalation appear dim.
