New Delhi: In a significant military development, the Indian Air Force (IAF) confirmed on Sunday that it has carried out its responsibilities under Operation Sindoor with “precision and professionalism.” The operation, launched on May 7, targeted terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, following a deadly terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam last month.

According to an official statement posted on social media, the IAF emphasized that the missions were carried out in a “deliberate and discreet manner,” aligning with the country’s broader strategic objectives. While the operation remains ongoing, the Air Force urged the public to avoid speculation and wait for an official briefing to be held in due course.
The announcement comes a day after India and Pakistan mutually agreed to halt all military actions across land, air, and sea. However, tensions resurfaced after multiple drone sightings and interceptions were reported in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, as well as areas of Gujarat on Saturday evening.
In response, India accused Pakistan of breaching the fresh ceasefire agreement. “Over the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding… This is a breach,” said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during a late-night media briefing. He asserted that India’s armed forces are responding “appropriately” and are on high alert to tackle any further aggression.
Misri also called on Pakistan to handle the situation responsibly and to ensure the ceasefire is respected in both spirit and practice.
Amid escalating concerns, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level security meeting on Sunday at his residence. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of all three armed forces were present to assess the situation and coordinate a unified response.
