Our prayers with quake-hit Morocco: Macron in India

New Delhi: France President Emmanuel Macron, in a bilateral talk with India held on the sideline of the G20 summit, has expressed grief about the earthquake that hit Morocco on Friday.

Macron said, “We are ready to send resources to Morocco whenever they need it.”

“We have mobilized all technical and security teams to be able to intervene, when the Moroccan authorities deem it useful,” Macron added while talking to the reporters in New Delhi, at the end of a G20 summit.

The New Indian was present at the time of press briefing.

The 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit the country and left thousands of people dead and injured.

President Macron offered his prayers for the people of Macron while briefing the press after the G20 summit. Earlier Macron, while onboard on a flight to the G20 summit in India, wrote on X “We are all devastated after the terrible earthquake in Morocco. France stands ready to help with first aid.”

The earthquake hit Morocco on Friday and more than thousand people have been killed.

PM Modi has also offered his prayers at the end of the third and last session of the G20 summit while concluding the summit held in Delhi.
