“You can build bone. You can change your entire personality. You can change your entire career,” Dr. Shah says, addressing global leaders and innovators. She challenges the audience to rethink aging by focusing on what she calls the “last 2,000 weeks” of life.
“People romanticize their youth, but the truth is, most people can make their last 2,000 weeks the best. Science shows us how,” she explains.
Dr. Shah highlights research on brain health, noting that walking outside for 40 minutes three times a week can grow the hippocampus, the part of the brain crucial for memory and learning. She stresses the importance of protecting the brain as it naturally shrinks with age.

She also emphasizes the link between gut health and mental well-being. “If you change your gut, you can change the way you think, the way you feel, and the way you show up in the world,” she says. Nutrition, she adds, is the most powerful tool for that transformation.
At the summit, Dr. Shah urges participants to see health not as decline but as opportunity: “We actually can change not only the way we look, but the way we live.”
The We The Planet UNGA 100 Disruptors Summit was moderated and chaired by Kunal Sood, founder and executive chairman of We The Planet, who brought together global leaders, innovators, and changemakers to share bold ideas for shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.
