NEW DELHI: Disturbed BSP MP Danish Ali, from Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha, who was scorned at with a mouthful of disparaging expletives on his religious identity by the BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, has described the incident as heart-breaking for him.
“During the course of his speech, he directed the most foul and abusive invectives against me which are part of the Lok Sabha. Among the abuses, he directed against me — Bhadwa (pimp), katwa (circumcised one), mulla ugrawadi (Muslim terrorist), atankwadi (terrorist)….” said Ali in his letter.
The incident, that has now invoked sharp reactions from the prominent INDI Alliance (INDIA) leaders including Priyanka Chaturvedi, Mahua Moitra and Jairam Ramesh, has also added fresh ammunition to the depleted Opposition after the BJP made it all about the new Parliament building and the new Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam).

Ali, while speaking to the media at his MP residence, disclosed that he’s written a missive to the Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, to seek action against Bidhuri for using the choicest slurs. He reminded the BJP of the incident tarnishing the image of the new Parliament, barely hours after the saffron party tabled and cleared the historic bill.

“This is most unfortunate and the fact that it has happened in the new Parliament under your leadership….is truly heart-breaking for me as a minority member of this great nation and as elected member of this Parliament,” said Ali.
While the south Delhi BJP MP has not uttered any apology after the incident, the mounting attack on the BJP has forced the party president J P Nadda to slap him with a show-cause notice.
BSP supremo Mayawati has rallied behind her MP, saying even though Biduri’s comments have been expunged by the Speaker but the lack of action against him makes the BJP unpardonable.
