Delhi Elections: Voters express excitement, emphasize importance of voting

The capital city witnessed a significant democratic exercise as elections are taking place across seven constituencies.

NEW DELHI: The capital city witnessed a significant democratic exercise as elections are taking place across seven constituencies. Voters from diverse backgrounds came forward to cast their ballots, including the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. Voters expressed their satisfaction with the voting process and shared their concerns and hopes for the future.

The New Indian Team reached civil lines to gather the views with several locals  and understand their perspectives on the current elections.

Sushil Agarwal, a seasoned voter with over 40 years of experience, praised the transparency and efficiency of the voting process. “The process is very good and transparent. It hardly took one minute to cast our vote. Regardless of whom one is voting for, everyone should vote,” he said. Agarwal emphasized the importance of voting to prevent dictatorship and called for greater focus on health and education. His wife echoed these sentiments, highlighting the need for equal opportunities for women in politics and stressing the importance of careful candidate evaluation by the youth.

A first-time voter and CA student from Delhi University, boldly declared her support for Modi, citing the nation’s progress over the past decade. “We are much stronger and more influential today. This is due to the correct leadership we have had over the years,” she stated. She urged young voters to conduct their own research and avoid biased sources. She made a bold statement, saying, “Only Modi will come to power” on Kejriwal’s face. She highlighted the progress India has made in the past decade and urged young voters to do their own research instead of relying on biased sources.
