New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) successfully coordinated the return of Taher Salim Dola, a fugitive wanted in a major narcotics case, from the UAE through INTERPOL channels, landing him in Mumbai today (June 13, 2025). Dola, accused of operating a synthetic drug factory in Sangli, Maharashtra, was linked to the seizure of 126.141 kg of Mephedrone (MD) worth ₹2.522 crore in Mumbai Police’s FIR No. 67/2024. After fleeing abroad, the CBI tracked him via a Red Notice (issued Nov 25, 2024), leading to his arrest in UAE on Jan 27, 2025, and subsequent deportation via Air India Flight AI-984. This marks another success in CBI’s efforts—over 100 fugitives extradited in recent years—bolstering India’s global crackdown on drug trafficking and organized crime.
