NEW DELHI: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has expelled its Amroha MP Danish Ali just few hours after he extended his support to TMC’s Mahua Moitra over her expulsion as a parliamentarian in the cash for query case.

The letter by the party states, “We have verbally reminded you many times to not go against the party’s policies, ideology and discipline but your actions and behaviours have repeatedly gone against it.”

In a formal letter by the BJP’s National General Secretary Satish Chandra Misra, Ali is reminded of his association with H. D. Deve Gowda and Janta party till 2018. It stated, “It would be right to remind you that till the year 2018 you were working as a member of Deve Gowda’s Janta party. And you were very active for his party when we fought general elections together in Karnataka in 2018.

On the request of Gowda, we gave you the ticket from our party from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh. Before giving the ticket, Gowda assured us that you will follow BSP’s guidelines and policies. You also assured us of that.”

The letter concluded with informing him of his expulsion from the party that gave him the path to Parliament.

“However, you have forgotten those assurances and have worked against the party’s guidelines. Hence, in the benefit of the party, we are expelling you as a member of BSP immediately,” it read further.

The party had also maintained a distance from commenting too much on Danish’s incident in the Parliament in September where BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri hurled abuses at him.
