NEW DELHI: The National Capital Region (NCR) is on high alert as a fresh bomb threat was received via email at St. Stephen’s College earlier today. This comes amid ongoing security concerns following similar threats at three schools in the region, including Noida’s Shiv Nadar Public School, a Delhi-based school, and East Delhi’s Alcon Public School.
Police teams and bomb disposal squads are currently on the ground at St. Stephen’s College, conducting thorough anti-sabotage (AS) checks. The college premises are being evacuated as a precaution, and security has been tightened across the area.
In a message to parents, Anju Soni, Principal of Shiv Nadar School, Noida, stated:
“Dear Parent,
This is to share that we have received a threat to the safety of students on campus. Therefore, We are closing the campus down for Friday, February 7, 2025, to complete a sweep to ensure safety for all. Please keep your child at home to support us with this. Those who have already boarded buses will be sent back home with immediate effect.
Warm regards,
Anju Soni, Principal, Shiv Nadar School, Noida.”
This is not the first time such threats have been reported. Bomb threat emails have been received on multiple occasions in the past. The Special Cell of the Delhi Police is already investigating an FIR lodged in connection with a recent threat, and the probe is still ongoing.
Authorities are investigating the source of the latest threatening email and have urged the public to remain calm. Further updates are awaited as the situation unfolds.
