Who Was Ghazi Baba?

Born as Rana Tahir Nadeem in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, Ghazi Baba was a high-ranking commander of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He was the principal architect behind the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, a brazen attack that escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. Beyond this, Baba was implicated in several other heinous acts, including the 1995 kidnapping of six foreign tourists in Pahalgam and multiple bombings targeting Indian security establishments.

The ensuing 10-hour gunbattle culminated in the death of Ghazi Baba and his associates. This operation was hailed as a significant achievement in India’s counter-terrorism efforts.
