Minister Vaishnaw also emphasized the opportunities this investment would create for India’s youth and startups. “Many new opportunities are coming. AI services are emerging as a totally new segment in the digital economy. With good digital infrastructure, we should be able to prepare our youth—reskill our youth, upskill our youth—and make sure they are ready for the AI opportunities which are coming in the world today. This data center will be part of the AI mission. It will augment the AI infrastructure needed to ensure that our youth get the facilities, and startups get the facilities, required for their products and their services.”

The $15 billion investment is expected to create thousands of jobs, enhance AI research capabilities, and strengthen India’s position as a global technology hub. Google’s AI hub in Visakhapatnam will serve as a key driver for innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship in the country.
