NEW DELHI: Impact entrepreneur and X Fellows founder Kunal Sood opens his remarks at the We The Planet UNGA 100 Disruptors Summit with a deeply personal reflection on identity, belonging, and the search for purpose.

“Let me tell you a little bit about the inquiry of who am I,” Sood begins. “It’s a very deep question we ask ourselves to find that oneness within and to lead a life full of meaning and purpose.”
Sharing his own story, Sood recalls growing up feeling different. “I wasn’t born in the slums of Mumbai, but I was the Black Labrador of my family. I call myself the Black Lab born into a circle of golden retrievers,” he says, pointing to a family member in the audience.

Sood explains that from childhood, he felt like an outsider, even within his own culture. “My own country didn’t love me. They always used to see me as weird or just strange. But the truth is, I always wanted to fit in. I always wanted to make a difference — and it never happened,” he reflects.
The Summit was moderated and chaired by Kunal Sood, founder and executive chairman of We The Planet, who brought together global leaders, innovators, and changemakers to share bold ideas for shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.
