New Delhi: In a major counter-terror operation, Border Security Force (BSF) troops gunned down seven Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan into Indiaโs Samba sector in Jammu & Kashmir.
The operation comes amid escalating tensions along the border, with Pakistan resorting to heavy shelling and ceasefire violations.
Infiltration Bid Foiledย
According to sources, the terrorists were trying to take advantage of the ongoing cross-border firing to sneak into Indian territory. However, BSF personnel detected and neutralized the group in a swift operation. Security forces remain on high alert as intelligence inputs suggest more such attempts could follow.
IAF Thwarts Pakistani Air Strikesย
The encounter follows Pakistanโs failed aerial aggression last night, which was effectively countered by the Indian Air Force (IAF). In an official statement, the IAF confirmed that “our air defense stood as an impregnable shield”, repelling Pakistani strikes using CUAS, Pechora, SAMAR missiles, and anti-aircraft guns.
‘We responded with restraint and precision, ensuring civilian safety while decisively neutralizing threats,” the IAF said.
Civilian Areas Targeted in Uriย ย
Meanwhile, Pakistan intensified shelling in Uri (Baramulla), damaging several homes and properties. Jammu & Kashmirโs Lieutenant Governor is expected to visit the area soon to assess the situation.
Indiaโs Firm Stand
The back-to-back operations highlight Indiaโs zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and its readiness to counter Pakistanโs destabilizing actions. With security forces maintaining a strong vigil, New Delhi has sent a clear message that any infiltration or aggression will meet a decisive response.
