Yogi watching finale, Messi’s lotus tattoo sparks FIFA meme-fest

Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 2022 on December 18, after defeating football champions France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 tie till extra time. Argentina has won the World Cup three times. The trophy was last lifted by Diego Maradona in Mexico City. That happened in 1986.

Even though India is not an official part of the IFFI, we managed to mark our presence with Deepika Padukone making a appearance with her husband Ranveer Singh and co-star Shah Rukh Khan in Qatar, where she unveiled the trophy.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also shared a picture of him glued to finale. The pictures show the chief minister seated comfortably on his sofa. In one of the pictures, Argentina player Rodrigo De Paul and France’s Alexi Mac Allister were seen sharing the screen.

What, though, took everyone by surprise was the lotus tattoo on Lionel Messi’s hand.

Undoubtedly, Mbappe will resume his quest for glory soon, on Sunday, his hattrick ensured a 2-2 draw after the regulation time, which settled with a 3-3 draw after the extra time at the Lusail stadium.

Though Mbappe’s one-man show helped him come out of Messi’s shadow, it could not overshadow the Argentine’s sublime performance in the tournament.

Earlier, Argentina’s bright start was rewarded when Messi gave them the lead with yet another goal from the penalty spot. Messi kept his calm as he beat his French counterpart Hugo Lloris from the penalty spot in the 21st minute after Ousmane Dembele made contact with Angel Di Maria in the box.

After creating an opportunity for his skipper, Di Maria swung into action with a sublime performance that helped Argentina to a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute.
