NEW DELHI: The highly anticipated Meteora Developers World Padel League is set to make its India debut from February 5 to 8, 2025, at the Nesco Center in Mumbai. This premier tournament, known as “The Greatest Show on Court,” will feature 32 of the world’s top padel players, competing across four teams in a thrilling contest.
The teams—Sohail Khan Ent. Panthers, SG Pipers Cheetahs, Game Changers Lions, and Vernost Jaguars—each consist of five male and three female players, along with a coach or captain. With the growing popularity of Padel in India, this event, supported by the Indian Padel Federation (IPF), is expected to further boost the sport’s visibility and inspire new players.

The tournament boasts a star-studded lineup, with players holding high global rankings. The Sohail Khan Ent. Panthers include Carlos Daniel Gutierrez, Javier Barahona, and Marta Ortega. SG Pipers Cheetahs feature Francisco Guerrero, Claudia Fernandez, and Beatriz Gonzalez. Game Changers Lions will rely on Jon Sanz, Veronica Virseda, and Aranzazu Osoro, while Vernost Jaguars bring in Alejandro Arroyo, Alejandra Salazar, and Maximiliano Sanchez.
The action begins with Vernost Jaguars facing Sohail Khan Ent. Panthers, followed by SG Pipers Cheetahs taking on Game Changers Lions. The league stage runs until February 7, when each team will play against every other team once in a single round-robin format.
The top two teams from the standings will then battle it out in the final on February 8. Each match will consist of four sets—two men’s doubles, one women’s doubles, and one mixed doubles—using the traditional tennis-style scoring system.
In case of a tie after the final, a Super Shootout will decide the champion. The shootout follows a first-to-10 format, with sudden death at 9-9, ensuring a dramatic conclusion.
Fans can purchase tickets via District by Zomato to witness the high-octane clashes live. Matches will take place daily at 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM IST, while the final is scheduled for 6:30 PM IST on February 8.
For those watching from home, the tournament will be broadcast across multiple platforms. Sony Sports Ten 1 and Fancode will stream matches in India, while Styx Sports will cover Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Myco will stream in the GCC, Egypt, and Pakistan, and Padel TV will broadcast in Scandinavia and the UK.
