The recently released trailer builds upon the teaser that was revealed last month. It provides an intense and captivating look into the life of India’s first Field Marshal. Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of Sam Manekshaw is compelling as he delivers a powerful performance, including scenes where he engages in tough conversations with his fellow soldiers and confronts several high-profile leaders, including the then-Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film is set in the late 1960s and early ’70s, adding a historical dimension to the narrative.

“Sam Bahadur” is scheduled to hit theaters on December 1, 2023. The film’s screenplay is penned by Bhavani Iyer, Shantanu Shrivastava, and Meghna Gulzar. It was shot in various locations, including Punjab, Kashmir, and Delhi. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies, known for backing Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster “Uri: The Surgical Strike” in 2019.

“Sam Bahadur” brings to life the incredible journey of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw, whose remarkable military career spanned over four decades and included participation in five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the prestigious rank of Field Marshal and played a pivotal role in India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, which led to the creation of Bangladesh. The movie also stars Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, Richard Bhakti Klein, Saqib Ayub, and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela in significant roles.
