NEW DELHI: Renowned actor Rituraj Singh, known for his versatile performances in television shows and films, has tragically passed away at the age of 59. The actor, who gained fame through his roles in popular TV serials like “Anupamaa,” “Hitler Didi,” and “Adaalat,” as well as notable films such as “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

According to close friend Amit Behl, Singh, who had recently battled stomach issues leading to a brief hospitalization, succumbed to a sudden cardiac arrest at his residence around 12:30 am. Despite being discharged after his hospital stay, the actor faced unforeseen complications, leaving behind his grieving wife and two children.

Singh’s contribution to the small and big screens extended beyond television, with impactful performances in OTT shows including “Bandish Bandits,” “Made in Heaven,” and “Indian Police Force.” His versatility and commitment to his craft made him a beloved figure among audiences.

Amit Behl, revealing the unfortunate news, stated, “He had been hospitalised due to some stomach issues and was discharged a few days ago. He passed away around 12.30 am at his home due to a cardiac arrest.”

The sudden demise of Rituraj Singh has left the industry and his fans in shock, with condolences pouring in on social media. Actor Arshad Warsi, a neighbor and colleague, expressed his grief, saying, “I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building; he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor… will miss you brother…”

Singh’s illustrious career spanned decades, featuring remarkable roles in TV shows like “Tol Mol Ke Bol,” “Jyoti,” “Kutumb,” and “Laado 2.” His filmography includes memorable performances in movies like “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” and “Yaariyan 2.” Recently, he captivated audiences with his compelling portrayal in the hit TV series “Anupamaa” and the critically acclaimed “Made in Heaven.”
