GHAZIABAD: A school principal has been arrested for allegedly molesting minor girl students inside his office in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The principal has been identified as Rajiv Tyagi, according to reports.

The arrest came days after the girls wrote a blood-stained letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, recounting their horrendous experience. He would call them inside his office on the pretext of random “works” and touch them “inappropriately”, the girls alleged.

They kept quiet for long out of hesitation and shame. But one of the victims blew the lid off when she confided in her parents. It gave courage to more victims to speak up.

Instead of addressing their grievances, the school administration tried to shrug off the responsibility and tried to bar the access of the enraged parents when they visited the school, which promoted a quarrel.

The school lodged a complaint against the parents for trespass, assault, and damage to property against the parents. In response, the parents also lodged a complaint.

Police have registered two FIRs against the school and the parents.

As per reports, the girl students wrote the letter before police lodged the FIRs. In the letter, they alleged that cops were reluctant to take action against the principal because of his affiliation with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological parent of the BJP.

The parents complained that they received threats and they had to spend hours in police custody after writing the letter.

Saloni Agrawal, the assistant commissioner of police (Wave City), said an extensive investigation is progressing.

Meanwhile, a local principals’ association has approached the commissioner requesting for an impartial inquiry.
